Masonic degrees explained

W. M.-Brother Junior Deacon, you'll tote around the required assistance and repair towards the ante-room, where there's an applicant in awaiting the 2nd degree in Masonry and if you have him prepared, allow it to be known through the usual sign.

The Junior Deacon, using the two Stewards associated him, steps towards the center from the Lodge, helps make the duegard and manifestation of another Craft, and passes from the Lodge in to the ante-room. (For duegard and sign see Figs. 3 and 4, page 17.)

S. D.-Brother Junior Deacon, is he duly and truly prepared, worthy and well qualified?

J. D.-He's.

S. D.-Has he earned appropriate proficiency within the preceding degree?

J. D.-He's.

S. D.-And correctly vouched for?

S. D.-Who vouches for him?

J. D-A brother.

S. D.-In what further right, or benefit, does he be prepared to gain admission?

J. D.-By the advantage of a pass.

S. D.-Has he that pass?

J. D.-He's it not, however i get it for him.

S. D.-Advance, and provide me the pass. (Some say, advance the pass.)

Junior Deacon whispers within the Senior Deacon's ear the pass-word, "Shibboleth."

S. D.-The pass is appropriate. You'll wait with persistence before the Worshipful Master is informed of the request, and the answer came back.

The Senior Deacon then shuts the doorway, and repairs towards the center from the Lodge, prior to the Worshipful Master within the east, and sounds his fishing rod two times on the ground, that is taken care of immediately through the Master together with his gavel, once the same interrogations and solutions are repeated through the Master and Deacon as in the door. The Actual then states:

W. M-Allow him to enter, within the title from the The almighty, and become received in due form.

The Senior Deacon then takes the square in the altar, and, repairing towards the door, he opens it, and states:

S. D.-Allow him to type in the title from the The almighty, and become received in due form.

The Junior Deacon advances with the door, then the

two Stewards, once the Senior Deacon stops them by putting the position from the square from the candidate's right breast.

S. D. While on offer the Lodge, because the conductor and candidate pass the officers' stations within the south, west, and east, they (the officials) seem the gavel the following: the very first time going round, one rap each the 2nd time, two raps each. Candidate-It's, &c., &c.

The same questions and solutions transpire as in the Junior Warden's station and also at the doorway, and also the candidate and conductor are allowed through the Warden to pass through towards the Worshipful Masters station within the east.

W. M.-Who comes here?
