Summary

Created in 1918, but registered in 1919, the Operative Stonemasons' Society of Australia was a combination of condition masons' communities from Victoria, Queensland, Nsw and South Australia, each having a history starting in the mid-to-late nineteenth century. Operating for a lot of the 20th century, the Operative Stonemasons' Society of Australia eventually grew to become a target of progress and it was deregistered in 1991.
